"A giant of the political left, Rosa Luxemburg is one of the foremost minds in the canon of revolutionary socialist thought. But she was much more than just a thinker. She made herself heard in a world inimical to the voices of strong-willed women. She overcame physical infirmity and the prejudice she faced as a Jew to become an active revolutionary whose philosophy enriched every corner of an incredibly productive and creative life--her many friendships, her sexual intimacies, and her love of science, nature and art"--

Worth the read yet it seemed to me there was too much emphasis on her romantic/sexual relationships. This rarely happens to men in biographies..

Boring, too many words, crude drawings. Essentially propaganda.

comic book biographies of economists doesn't sound like a particularly rewarding category, does it? but evans is good, really good, making luxembourg a real human being whose visible self expresses her internal self. the graphic explanations of basic marxist theory are engaging and luxembourg's own arguments are passionate, lively, and cut short. evans is so good i could almost tell the early twentieth century german socialist guys apart. (hint: look for beard variations.)
