High praise from my kindergartener, who can relate to Crankenstein's feelings about hearts and mushy stuff. :)

He's back, and he's crankier than ever! After all, it's Valentines! Crankenstein's new word of choice is "Yech!", and with all the love in the air, he has many opportunities to use it. Yet, there on the page is another green-skinned goblin, another who despises all the gushy, mushy stuff, and while love doesn't blossom, a friendship does. Once again this monstrous little child's story ends in a positive way. Absolutely everything about Crankenstein plays for laughs, especially the art. All of Crankenstein's gloriously expressive, and outrageously unimpressed faces return, including the Grinch smile. Changes to the word bubbles add that little extra detail which completes the overall feel, and the composition between these and the pictures is perfectly laid out to maximize the humour. Both parents and children alike will enjoy watching this child's temper tantrums.
