In 1962, Jackie Hart moves from Boston to Florida, with her family. Wanting something fulfilling to do, she starts a reading club and hosts a local late-night radio show as "Miss Dreamsville." The conservative, segregated town loves Miss Dreamsville, but doesn't know what to make of Jackie. Her book club welcomes everyone - even a black woman, a gay man, and a convict - who found there what had so far eluded them: a place in the world.

I belong to a book and like this book never a dull moment. Amy Hill Hearth is a great author and I can't wait for her new book coming out in Sept. 2015

My pick for best summer read. For those who liked The Help, this is a great choice. This is Florida in the 1960's. Take one transplanted Northerner, mix in a group of quirky misfits and call yourself a Literary Society. Everyone has a story, everyone has a secret and together they have some rather lively adventures. A fun read. Be sure to check this one out this summer!

The book was okay – but not one of my favorites.

Each character is searching for a purpose or dream to carry them through. There are many roadblocks and detours as they discover what they really want. The book is very satisfying. I really enjoyed it.

This was a charming characyter study as well as an insight into small town racial issues of the 60s. I couldn't put it down.
