Marlee sighed. "I give up. Sorry, America, you've been so patient, but I hate hearing myself play. It sounds like the piano is sick."

SummaryAdd a Summary
The book The Elite is the second book in The Selection series. Like the last book, it follows the story of America Singer as she decides between her past lover, Aspen or Maxon, the prince whose heart she’s currently fighting for. This time, instead of thirty-five girls fighting for Maxon, we’re down to six girls. Tensions get tight as America is now one step closer to losing Aspen forever, but tensions are not only tight there. Maxon’s father, the king, does not approve of America. Which love will America fight for? All in all, this is a great book, an absolute unit. It carries over the same things that the first book had, without being overbearing. It is most definitely worth following the series right up to the end. Lastly, much like the last book, and the whole series in general, this is most likely going to be best for people interested in dystopian romance novels or series.
Down to 6. The Elite is intense as the 6 girls battle it out. America still can't choose wether she wants Aspen or Maxon but now that this is anyone's game she has to make up her mind.
Only 6 girls are left and America is one of them and as the competition goes on she starts to realize that the people she thought were her friends are not who she thought they were and Maxon might start to like someone else except for her.
Other: After Marlee was caned she showed that she had no regret for breaking the law because it was in the name of love. I am a fan of this series but that part showed a flaw in Marlee's character. She used to be my favorite character. I'm not even angry about what she did I'm angry that she felt no regret.
Sexual Content: Marlee was caught in a closet with a guard and was whipped for it.
Sexual Content: Not too much, but there is a lot of kissing and seduction
