Add a CommentThe best shorthand description I can come up with for the experience of listening to audiobook reader Nick Podehl's enthusiastically expressive voice bringing Brent Crawford's writing to life is a Scrubs prequel, with Carter a combination J.D.-Turk as a high school freshman. A slightly exaggerated take on the mindset and adventures of many teen guys (all crammed into the story of one school year), narrated by a hilarious character (not many books get literal LOLs from me like this one did), with enough reality and insight to keep things grounded. Highly recommended.
I couldnt stop laughing! Definitley a great read for ages 13 and up!
I loved this book. It was really funny and really enteraining. Made me laugh more than once. Highly reconmend it.
A cute look at the modern high-school experience. Carter's voice is hilarious and his shenanigans are entertaining, if not always realistic (I hope). The main plot focuses around Carter "getting the girl". The redeeming value here is that Carter does find his place in the world by starring in a school musical, not the most popular of pursuits. Overall, the book is an entertaing read, fun without being too heavy.
