Thoroughly enjoyed this historical fiction. Lynn Austin is a great author. It was a hard one to put down.

This was a good book. Enjoyed the story, but I would have liked it better with a little less romance.. It certainly made you feel for the characters. It also had some humor in it.

My ancestors immigrated from Sweden. I loved this book; the story of 3 sisters, the courage they had to make the journey and the struggles of getting settled in America. From my ancestors records, the story is very accurate. I bought my own copy.

Well written, and the three girls all have distinct characters, which is good. But I could tell who would marry who before the story even got there, and that spoiled some of the fun for me.
I thought it was an interesting twist that the family in America didn't welcome them with open arms, they really had to step out on their own and become individuals. That was good too.
